The interstate highway system has altered our sense of space, fueled our economy, knifed into the hearts of once-thriving city neighborhoods, and changed the lives of millions of people. This ninety-minute documentary looks at this system, using archival material, newsreels, and interviews to describe the impact the world’s largest public works project has had on American life. Interviews include Stephen Ambrose, William Cronon, Molly Ivins, Dave Barry, and guest appearance by Mr. Rogers, Julia Child, Click and Clack the Tap-it Brothers, and John Kay, lead singer for Steppenwolf.
